Firefighters tackled a blaze at a house in Shepherds Hill, Harold Hill earlier today.

Emergency services were called to the house at 1.30pm to find the fire had been burning for a couple of hours.

Two fire engines attended the scene and the crews quickly got the blaze under control and were able to extinguish it within 30 minutes

Paul Dykes, 41, crew manager said: “There was no one in the house at the time.

“The fire was caused due to a hob being left on and something being left on top of it.”

There were no injuries.
