Firefighters in Hornchurch had to use hydraulic equipment to get a toddler’s finger out of a door hinge on Friday.

The two-year-old was not seriously injured after getting stuck at around 6pm at home in Blenheim Court.

Crew manager Keith Soundy said: “We got there quickly and got him out and he was none the worse for wear.”

The firefighters used a hydraulic spreader to free him. The tool is also used to get crash victims out of crushed cars.
