The Ferry Lane exit of the A13 is closed after a blue tanker overturned on the road.

Police and an ambulance crew attended the scene after a blue tanker overturned between Ferry Lane and Lamson Road, Rainham, at about 12.50pm today blocking the road.

The driver is being treated for minor injuries.

The westbound entry slip road to the Ferry Lane interchange from the A13 is closed.

Police are redirecting traffic because they fear the tanker may have spilt substances onto the road.
