A woman who was cared for at Queen’s Hospital donated more than 3,000 to the hospital’s charity as a way of saying thank you.

Lois and her husband Mark Oliver presented the funds to the neurological department at the hospital in Rom Valley Way, Romford recently.

The couple’s daughter, Abigail said: “It’s nice to give back. There is always someone else going through the same thing that happened to us.”

The fundraising was a combined effort.

Abigail raised 2,000 by running a sponsored half marathon, whilst the rest of the money was raised through a charity evening, which included a Rat-Pack tribute band and a raffle.

Over the past year the family, from Paglesham have raised more than 10,000 for the Neurological Department at Queen’s Hospital, Romford as Lois was treated there after it was discovered she had an aneurism on her brain.

Lois has now made a full recovery and alao brought in some home-made mince pies for the staff.
