An ex-pupil and actor has taken a trip down memory lane to cut the ribbon in a ceremony unveiling the extension of his old school.

BBC’s Being Human star, Russell Tovey, 32, is a former pupil of Harold Court Primary School, in Church Road, Harold Wood, and pupils and staff were more than happy to welcome him back to open the new wing of the primary school.

Headteacher Matthew Dineen, said: “The children and staff members were very excited to see him. Pupils were happy to meet him for the first time and a lot of the staff were happy to catch up with him since he left the school.

“It was nice to see an ex-pupil do something nice for the school and to see he hadn’t changed one bit!”
