Enjoy fun in the sun from this Friday and every Friday until the end of the August.

Brentwood Council is running the family fun days in King Georges’ Playing Fields with a range of activities on offer.

Last Friday the event included an Olympic theme to mark the beginning of the Games. Today it will have a focus on recycling and children will be able to make plant pots.

Cllr Mark Reed, chair of the retail, community and culture panel, said: “It’s great the first fun day went so well and I look forward to great fun days throughout the summer.

“There are all sorts of activities to come, including the Urban Games. I went along at the end of the afternoon (last week) and all the participants told me the turn-out was even greater than hoped-for and I expect that this will grow week on week.”
