Get ready for the Olympics by taking part in a Pre-lympic Games event in Brentwood.

Navestock Village Society will be holding the event on Sunday at the village hall.

The indoor sports include Table Tennis, short mat bowls and darts as well as board games such as draughts, dominoes and Scrabble and there will even be a chance to try your hand at air hockey.

There will also be activities outside including a bouncy castle, a sack race, egg and spoon race, three-legged race and a penalty shoot out.

Competitors can register for as many events as they wish with medals being awarded to the overall winners in a ceremony at the end of the day.

You can also enjoy music, an Olympic-themed quiz, face painting and a prize raffle.

Organiser Penelope Tyzack said: “We want this to be a really fun day for everyone. It doesn’t matter whether you are a champion or a beginner at any of the sports, just come and join in and enjoy the day.”

The event is from 11am to 4pm, and entry is £6 for adults and £4 for under 14s.
