A fire destroyed a garage and the owner’s two cars yesterday afternoon.

Firefighters from Hornchurch, Hainault, Dagenham and Brentwood were called to the scene in Platford Green, Emerson Park, at 2.15pm to a garage fire.

Part of the house’s roof was destroyed and damage was also done to the neighbouring property.

The fire was under control by about 2.45pm.

Cause of the fire is under investigation.
