Both the borough’s Labour and Conservative groups are fielding the maximum number of candidates across Havering’s 18 wards on May 3.
Right wing parties the National Front and the British National Party are fielding one candidate each in the entire borough, while UKIP will be hoping all 18 of its hopefuls can gain a spot at Town Hall to help guide Havering through Brexit.
Both the Liberal Democrats and the Green Party will also be crossing their fingers that their candidates can win over the borough’s voters after fielding 16 and 13 candidates respectively.
Meanwhile, the newly formed Harold Hill Independent Party is fielding five candidates in Gooshays and Heaton wards.
At the last local elections in 2014, Havering Conservatives formed a minority administration after winning 28pc of the vote and taking 22 of the 54 seats available at town hall.
Turnout four years ago was just 43pc.
