Today is the day young people across the borough will be receiving their A level results.
Hundreds will be ripping open their envelopes to see if their hard work has paid off.
Our reporters are in schools and colleges this morning getting students’ reactions to their results and finding out what they will be doing next.
We will be updating our website throughout the day with the latest results so keep checking back.
The Romford Recorder will publish a full set of results as soon as they are sent to us from all schools.
But for now the first set of results to come through are from The Coopers’ Company and Coborn School, in St Mary’s Lane, Upminster.
There were 204 students who sat their A-levels and the pass rate was 99.85 per cent.
Thirty five pupils achieved at least an A* and 83.2 per cent of the grades were A* to C.
Three pupils achieved four A* grades
Nationally the pass rates have risen to 97.8 per cent – a record high. The overall pass rate has risen for the 29th year.
About 8 per cent of boys have achieved an A*, up from 7.9 per cent last year, while girls’ performance has dipped from 8.3 per cent to 8.2 per cent.
