Children from a Harold Hill school performed a pantomime based on the story of Robin Hood.

Inspired by a visit from M&M Productions, which the school bought as a festive treat for the children, the pupils wanted to perform their own panto.

The children in Year 5 and 6 told the story of Robin of Loxley, played by Toheeb Gbadamosi, as he robs from the rich to support the poor and needy of Nottingham.

Aided by his comical assistant, the Sheriff, Sophie Hann, he tries to capture the outlaw.

With the return of King Richard the Lionheart, Mark Trew, the rightful heir to the throne is restored.

Music co-ordinator Georgina Reynolds said: “It’s great to give the pupils a chance to show off their speaking and listening skills. They love performing and have worked really hard on all aspects of the show to make it a success.”

Mayor of Havering, Cllr Lynden Thorpe, said: “The two technical wizards made sure the whole show came together; they didn’t miss a single cue!”

Headteacher Malcolm Drakes said: “At Broadford we are firmly committed to giving the children a wide variety of experiences and opportunities to show their skills and talents.

“Performances like this create a real buzz and give the children something to be very proud of. In a short space of time the pupils and staff did extremely well to pull off such a big production - 10 songs to learn, costumes to make and four year groups to co-ordinate: a difficult job that was done very well.”
