Pupils at an Upminster primary school sang in support of England ahead of their next World Cup game against Croatia.
Staff and pupils at The James Oglethorpe Primary School in Ashvale Gardens got into the football spirit with a special video of all the classes singing Three Lions which has become a popular song across the country for the 2018 World Cup.
Hayley Durrant, head teacher at the school said: “The children are just really excited. We played the song in assembly last week and you could see some of the children really knew it so I thought it would be a good idea to make the film.
“One of our values is about identity - knowing who you are and where you come from and this really fits in with that.”
During the lunch break the pupils have also been taking part in their own World Cup games with the semi-final match to take place soon.
“There’s a really good team feel here in the school, so it’s great that we can come together for things like this,” Mrs Durrant added.
“It feels important for our pupils to be patriotic and get behind the team.”
