Almost one in 10 school applications in Havering were rejected after being deemed suspicious, according to a BBC investigation.
Havering Council will feature on Panorama, The Schools Scandal: Playing the System tonight at 7.30pm on BBC One as part of a probe into families who abuse the system to get their children into top schools.
The show will focus on council investigators tasked with hunting down anyone they think might have bent the rules to gain places at over-subscribed schools in the borough.
According to the programme, more than one in eight families in Havering were not accepted by their first choice primary school for admission this September.
