Children from a Harold Wood school have stepped up their road safety after receiving high-visibility jackets.
Synter Harold Wood BMW and Mini visited Harold Court Junior School and gave each child a jacket. It came after a road safety initiative organised by the Junior Road Safety Officers (JRSO) at the school.
Four students in Year 5 who have been JRSOs for a year-and-a-half have been working closely with teachers to improve road safety awareness at the school.
Steven Richards dealer principal of Synter Harold Wood presented the children with their high-visibility jackets in their Christmas assembly, just in time for the school’s trip to St Peter’s Church for their annual carol service.
Headteacher Beverly Swain said: “We are very grateful to BMW for giving us the jackets to allow safe walking to St Peter’s Church and all our other visits.”
Steven said: “This is a great way for us to support the local community, BMW have a Safe on the Street campaign which we fully support.
“It was a pleasure to be invited to the school’s assembly and would like to congratulate the JRSOs in their achievements this year.”
