A TEN-YEAR-OLD boy has won a national writing competition for the second year in a row.
William O’Hara, who goes to Brentwood Preparatory School, Middleton Hall Lane, was selected by bestselling author Pauline Francis as one of the top 12 poems or stories from more than 3,500 entries. His story – The Stones – has been published in the World Book Day 2011/12 Anthology.
William said: “I was really proud to win, the judges were new this year, I didn’t expect it at all I’m very very pleased.”
He added: “I enjoy the freedom of writing.”
