A total of 12 schools are closed in the borough today and 13 are partially closed after a teachers’ union called for a day of industrial action.

The National Union of Teachers (NUT) called for a one-day industrial action today to protest against cuts to school budgets and to request negotiations around workload, pay and working conditions.

Across the borough, nine primary schools and two secondary schools are closed and 11 primary schools and two secondary schools are partially closed. Parents should have been informed ahead of the strike whether to send their children to school.

A full list of the schools that are closed is available on the council’s website here.
