Hylands Primary School pupils left the classroom behind to visit a construction site - and build their knowledge for their “house and homes history” topic.
Visiting new development Edwin Mews, in Malvern Road, Hornchurch, the 61 youngsters examined the house styles and materials as an example of how properties have changed over time.
Teacher Pauline Siddons said: “The walk around was a complete success in showing the children examples of contemporary housing styles, and how workmen keep themselves safe on-site.”
Norman Sharpe, sales director for builders Charles Church Essex, said: “It was lovely to have Hylands Primary School students on site as we are always keen to build relationships with the local community in which our developments are located.”
