Families flocked to a Hornchurch school for a fun-packed day of activities to celebrate the school’s anniversary.
Towers Infant and Junior Schools in Osborne Road which first opened in September 1967, held an open day and summer fete on Saturday, June 23.
Sarah Meacher, head of the infant school told the Recorder: “It was an amazing day, a real success.
“There was a huge turnout with loads of past pupils as well as current pupils.
“The school would like to thank the Parents Fundraising Association.”
As part of the 50th anniversary celebration, groups from Nursery to Year 6 across both schools held an art exhibition with various optical illusion and Pop art pieces.
On Saturday, the day kicked off with a performance by the band, The Carnaby Army.
