Children from a Hornchurch nursery celebrated their graduation day with fun, games and a tea party.

Some of the children, aged four, had been at Scallywags Nursery, in Suttons Lane, from when they were six-months-old and teachers said they bid an emotional farewell as they donned their graduation hats.

The children were also presented with certificates to mark their graduation by Mayor of Havering Cllr Lynden Thorpe.

Frankie Keogh, deputy manager at the nursery, said: “The children loved it and had a really good time, but some of the parents got emotional because their children were taking the next step to go to primary school. Some of them have been here for three-and-a-half years.

“The children were entertained by Marky Mark, sang songs with the mayor, and enjoyed a disco and food. They had lots of fun.”
