St Francis Hospice has won a tender to provide courses teaching and improving skills for carers.
Those involved in caring for the elderly and people with life-limiting illnesses can now learn under the Gold Standards Framework, a national strategy, at the Havering-atte-Bower hospice’s Pepperell Education Centre.
Caroline Scates, the hospice’s head of education, said: “Our success in winning this tender is a testament to the hard work undertaken by our training team, the quality of the facilities in our education centre and the support of our chief executive and directors.
“Winning this tender means that many more staff from care homes will be visiting us and the extra revenue this will provide will support our work delivering care and to local people with a life-limiting illness, free of charge.”
