Ben Wills was “delighted” with his seven As, two Bs and a C and best friends Zoe and Tomi got a whopping 12 A*s between them.

The school, in Suttons Lane, Hornchurch, is a specialist science college and 81pc of students achieved two A* to C passes in sciences, with many getting separate passes in biology, chemistry and physics.

Headteacher John McEachern said: “I am delighted that the hard work and effort of our students have shown over the last years has paid off for them to achieve such brilliant results.

“I and the rest of the staff at the school wish them the very best for the future.”
