Having the Recorder at her Emerson Park Academy results day was extra special for Jess Luff as she recently completed work experience with us.

Clever Jess achieved three A*s, three As and two Bs, and is considering pursuing a career in journalism after her time spent at the paper.

For now she will go on to take A-levels in English literature, history, psychology and maths at the Coopers’ Company and Coborn School in Upminster.

Jess said: “I love writing, and I’m so happy I got an A* in English language, so I might look at going into journalism.”

Her father John, who is one of the school’s directors, said: “This has been a very successful academic year for my daughter, the last six months of which have been very stressful. There were tears this morning before she got the results, but she’s got everything she needs to go and do her A-levels at Coopers. We’re very proud of her.”
