A burst water main has closed Drapers’ Brookside junior school for the day.
The incident comes a day after pupils returned to the school from their half-term holiday.
The school in Dagnam Park Drive, Harold Hill, says it will keep parents updated on its website.
Essex and Sussex Water have been doing roadworks in Dagnam Park Drive and are believed to have accidentally punctured a water main.
The situation is expected to be resolved within two hours, meaning the school will be open as normal tomorrow.
