A group of school children helped recycle old and unwanted clothes recently to raise money for their geography department.
The pupils of Brittons Academy, in Ford Lane, Rainham, signed up to ‘Phil’ the Bag Clothes Recycling Scheme, an organisation that sells and distributes donated clothes in third world countries, reducing the amount that would otherwise be put into landfill sites across the UK.
The academy has collected more than 43 sacks, and will be weighed, and based on the weight, the school will receive an amount of money.
