Brentwood: Two men released on bail following assault at football match

Two men have been released on bail while enquiries continue following an assault at a football match in Walton-on-Thames over the weekend.

The assault happened at about 5.40pm on Saturday, September 29, at the main gate of the Walton stadium on Stompond Lane, following a match with Brentwood.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was treated by ambulance crews at the scene before being taken to hospital for treatment to head injuries.

Two men, aged 45 and 47 from Essex, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault, and have since been released on conditional bail until October 25 while the investigation continues.
