Brain boxes from Gidea Park College proved they had enough general knowledge to beat their rivals at a fiercely-fought quiz.
Winners Aidan Proctor, Faraz Syed, Jessica Nightingale and Priyanka Joshi, from the Balgores Lane school, were crowned top dogs at the Rotary Club Primary School Quiz Final 2012 on Monday - taking home a trophy and book vouchers.
They beat finalists from Brady Primary School, in Wennington Road, Rainham; Branfil Primary School, in Cedar Avenue, Upminster; and Harold Wood Primary School, in Recreation Avenue, Harold Wood.
Thirty schools took part in the quiz, which has been testing young minds for 17 years.
Havering East Rotary Club member Phil Edwards said: “There was a combination of local and global questions. Some of the children are amazingly clever and all are a real credit to their schools.”
