A Rainham school is feeling festive after its official Christmas lights switch on last week.
Scargill Primary School celebrated the Christmas event by inviting Mayor of Havering Cllr Lynden Thorpe to switch the lights on in the school hall.
Denise Cooper, from the school in Mungo Park Road, said: “We felt privileged to have the Mayor here. We had a special event after the school assembly and the mayor turned on the lights on the 10ft tall Christmas tree in the hall and a smaller one in the foyer.
“Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it and the children and staff are excited for Christmas.”
