Students will be waking up this morning, both excited and nervous, to open their envelopes and find out what they achieved in their A-levels.

Recorder reporters are making their way to students and teachers to talk about individual results, as well as how schools and colleges in the borough have done overall during this year’s exam period.

We will be tweeting from our Romford Recorder Twitter account using the hashtag #HaveringResults and updating readers with results throughout the morning on our website.

On Track – the name of UCAS’ online tracking system - you’ll be able to reply to your offer and make amendments like changing your email address.

Your confirmation letter will appear within five to seven days after your place is confirmed.

If you exceeded your conditional offer, or if you missed out - don’t fear, there are plenty of options for you.

Tens of thousands of last-minute degree places are still available, as universities scramble to attract students still searching for a course.

As of Wednesday morning, the day before clearing opens, there were more than 27,000 courses listed on the Ucas clearing website, according to a Press Association survey.

Among the 24 Russell Group institutions alone, those universities considered among the best in the country, two thirds (16) had at least one course listed on the Ucas site, with 4,820 courses potentially having places on offer.

If you’ve exceeded your grade, check out what is available through Ucas Adjustment’s service.

It’s entirely optional, and a lot of competitive courses will be full – but other applicants might have missed their conditions or swapped a course too, so it could be worth seeing what’s available.
