Archant

The wait was over for scores of Havering A-level students who picked up their results yesterday.

And the Recorder’s roving reporters were of course out and about across the borough to capture the moment students tore open their envelopes.

Here are some of the picture highlights from the nerve-fraying day.

The borough’s pupils proved once again that they are among the brightest in London with a pass rate of 99.8 per cent.

Cllr Paul Rochford, cabinet member for children and learning, said: “Well done to Havering’s A-level students for achieving such great results again.

“I’m sure they’ll agree that their hard work and determination, as well as the dedication of their tutors and support of their parents, has all been worthwhile.

“I’m sure they are all excited about taking the next steps in their lives, whether they are joining the workplace, going to university, starting an apprenticeship or whatever it may be. Enjoy this moment and good luck to all in the future.”
