Work to improve access in Brentwood Station is due to start this month.
The improvements will include three new lifts to allow step-free access to all platforms.
The funding for the work has come from the government’s Access for All programme, and is due to last 10 months. The lifts are expected to be open NEXT April.
Cllr Will Russell said: “As a member of Brentwood Council and chair of the Kings Road/Warley Hill traders group, I am overjoyed that works to further improve the facilities at this wonderful station are now due to go ahead with the installation of the new lifts.
“I know many local residents and those that commute to and from Brentwood Station will be equally impressed.”
