The new chairman of the Hornchurch and Upminster Conservative Association said his first task would be to help elect a Tory mayor of London.
Bob Perry was voted in as the new boss of the group at the AGM earlier this month, as part of a whole new team.
He said: βA new and vibrant team has been elected by the members to drive the Conservative Party across Cranham, Emerson Park, Hacton, Harold Park, Harold Wood, Hornchurch Town, Noak Hill, North Ockendon, St.Andrews and Upminster Town.
βIn the short term we will be devising a strategy plan locally to help get Zac Goldsmith elected as London Mayor and to aid our colleague Councillor Keith Prince gain his place on the Greater London assembly. After the election on May 5, we will be campaigning very hard across the constituency to win the seats needed to return a town hall majority in 2018 in order to govern as a truly Conservative administration.β
Joining Bob are president Keith Wells, deputy chairman of politics Harry Barrington-Mountford, deputy chairman of membership and finance Chris Sutton and treasurer Marcus Llewellyn-Rothschild.
