It was a good old knees up for EastEnders star Danny Dyer as he was greeted by hundreds of fans at The Liberty Shopping Centre at the weekend.

Fans of the hit BBC One drama queued to meet the actor who plays pub owner Mick Carter as he signed copies of his book The World According to Danny Dyer: Life Lessons from the East End, outside WH Smith.

He said: “The book is about my views on the world and it has come about at a busy point in my career so although it was all collated and structured in about four-five days, I do hope it will inspire a few people!

“It was amazing to be at The Liberty and see so many people today – I used to come here all the time, I love a bit of Romford.”

Danny Crouch, of Chadwell Heath, was eager to meet the man himself and was first in the queue at 6am.

He said: “I’m a big Danny Dyer and Eastenders fan, I was nervous and excited, but meeting him was fantastic - it made my day.”

Jonathan Poole, centre manager of The Liberty shopping centre, said: “Our customers were so excited to have the chance to meet Danny and it was a pleasure to host one of TV’s most honest and funny characters and share in his success.”
