Brentwood Borough Council Town Hall now includes a community hub with Essex Police, offices for the Department of Work and Pensions, Citizens Advice offices and a mixture of residential and commercial space.

The duke was greeted by the Brentwood Imperial Youth Band before being shown around on Tuesday, February 18.

Council leader councillor Chris Hossack said it was a privilege to welcome the Queen's cousin to the borough.

"The Duke of Kent met a number of council officers including Nishat Amin who started here as an intern three years ago in economic development, and who, through his dedication and professionalism, has made a huge difference to the impact the council has helping local businesses," said Cllr Hossack.
