Driver hospitalised following Hornchurch crash

A driver has been taken to hospital following a two-car collision in Hornchurch.

Havering Police were called to High Street, near the junction with Station Lane, at around 1pm following the accident between a black Citroen and silver Peugeot.

Fire crews from Hornchurch station were quickly called after smoke was seen coming from one of the vehicles.

The driver of the Citroen, a woman in her 40s, was cut free from their car by firefighters.

Two ambulance crews attended and the woman was taken to Queen’s Hospital, in Romford, after reporting neck pains.

Both lanes of High Street were closed with buses diverted, but the road is now reopen.
