A man in his 60s was taken to hospital this afternoon (Tuesday) following a road traffic collision on the A127 Southend Arterial Road near Cranham.
Police, ambulance and fire crews were called out to the incident at around 1.20pm after a van collided with a central reservation.
A police spokesman said that the driver needed to be cut out of his vehicle.
An ambulance service spokesman said that the driver was treated for back pain and taken as a priority to Queen’s Hospital, Romford.
The smash occurred on the London-bound carriageway near Folkes Lane.
