Essex dignitaries visited a hospice which provides care to adults with life limiting illnesses from several boroughs last week.

Berntwood Mayor Cllr David Tee, Mayoress Pam Tee and Deputy Mayor Cllr Joan Holmes were given a tour of Saint Francis Hospice, in Havering-atte-Bower, to learn about the work it does.

Cllr Tee said: “You can’t write down the atmosphere of interaction and people enjoying each others company at Saint Francis Hospice. It’s been wonderful to come here, I’m going to go back to Berntwood and wave the orange flag of Saint Francis.”

Cllr Joan Holmes said: “I hadn’t realised the Berntwood connection so much as I have today, especially listening to a nurse, Laura, to learn just how many patients Saint Francis Hospice does deal with in Berntwood. If we can raise awareness of this, then we will.”
