Residents in Rutland Drive, Hornchurch, have been brought together by recent royal events.
Nadine King organised a street party in her road for the Royal Wedding last year, so that she could bring her neighbours together.
She also organised a Christmas get-together, and today her street was bustling with people celebrating the Diamond Jubilee.
She said: “When I started this last year, I wanted the people in the street to get to know each other and not to be scared of the teenagers.
“The teenagers in the street have been great.
“I want the gap between the older people and younger people to be gone, and it works because now you go down the street and everyone says ‘hello’.”
As well as coming out in honour of Her Majesty, residents also celebrated the 18th birthday of Nadine’s daughter Chelsea, who sang for the crowd.
Entertainment was also provided by singer Mick Clarke, as well as Darryl King, Keith Taylor, Paul Kidley and residents.
A Britain’s Got Talent-style competition was also held, with ‘celebrity lookalikes’ acting as judges.
