Rush hour commuters faced problems getting into central London for the second day in a row this morning when train services were delayed, cancelled and changed at short notice.

The Greater Anglia route from Shenfield was affected when lines were blocked at Liverpool Street because of signalling problems.

Trains were started and terminated at Stratford and some stopped early or missed out stations.

Staff were forced to stop people entering Ilford train station yesterday morning when it became overcrowded because of delays caused by a similar signalling problem.

Greater Anglia apologised to passengers for the disruption and engineers are working to fix the problem at Liverpool Street.
