The seven-year-old thoroughbred was discovered by passing walkers yesterday Monday August 15 at the Beam Valley Country Park in Rush Green, Romford.

The cuts are believed to have been made by a large, sharp instrument.

The police and the RSPCA are currently investigating.

A spokesman for the RSPCA said: “This horrific incident appears to have been completely unprovoked.

“We are keen to find out who was responsible, so if anyone has any information they think might help with the investigation, please contact us as soon as possible.”
