A POTENTIALLY lethal scorpion has been found by a resident in Hornchurch.
A woman found the creature among some paving slabs she imported from India and took it to Goddard Vets, in Gidea Park, where head vet Richard Marks identified it as a Common Yellow Scorpion.
He said: “It can come from the Middle East, or Africa or Europe and can be fatal if it’s an African import.
“Though these paving slabs came from India, a lot of Indian flights stop off in the Middle East so there could have been a Middle Eastern pick-up on the way back to the UK.”
The scorpion is currently being kept in a secure environment at the vets.
