Scott Doe has backed his team-mates to start finding the net

Defender Scott Doe has backed his goal-shy team-mates to hand out a thrashing sooner rather than later.

In three league matches and one Capital One Cup tie so far this season, Daggers have failed to find the net from open play – with their solitary strike coming courtesy of Dwight Gayle from the penalty spot in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Gillingham.

But, in each game, Daggers have had more than their fair share of goalmouth action.

And, ahead of Saturday’s trip to AFC Wimbledon, Doe believes it’s just a matter of time before the supporters see a goal-glut.

“I can see a big win coming,” said the 23-year-old. “I know for a fact we can score goals.

“I see our strikers in training day in, day out and I know they are capable of scoring goals.

“We’re a young side and it’s just coming together. We need to turn our form around as quickly as possibly, but I think that will happen.

“In every game, even against Cheltenham, I think we’ve had more shots on goal than the other team. Against Plymouth we had so many chances.”
