NHS bosses will be making the final decision whether to stop births at King George Hospital on March 27.

Health trust NHS North East London and the City will give its verdict after a review of services at Queen’s Hospital in Romford.

If the move is approved, women will give birth at Queen’s, leaving antenatal clinics, scans and parenting education at King George.

An inspection in December found that vast improvements at the troubled unit at Queen’s had taken place.
