Police have arrested a woman in relation to an alleged fraud which happened last month in Warley.

The woman, 53, from Witham, was arrested on suspicion of fraud by false representation after she went to Brentwood police station on Sunday.

She was released on bail until April 19 pending further enquiries.

Officers will also be speaking to another man in connection to the January 15 incident, which saw a man in his 80s tricked into handing over a bank card in Kipling Close after he received a call from someone claiming to be a police officer.

Police are still appealing for anyone with information to contact them on 101.
