The trial of the man accused of attacking someone began on Tuesday.

The jury were sworn in for the case of Paul Chambers, 26, of no fixed abode, who has pleaded not guilty to wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He also pleaded not guilty to wounding and possessing a knife in a public place.

The victim, 33, was dropped off at Queen’s Hospital, Romford, with stab wounds on June 30.

After the incident, an appeal was launched by Havering police to track down the driver who left him at the hospital and witnesses who helped to take him inside.

The trial is expected to conclude next week.
