Six men will appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court today in connection with allegations of racist chanting during the West Ham game played at home against Stoke City on November 19.

Mark Mahoney, 27, of Wickford Drive, Romford, was charged with a racially aggravated public order offence.

Jack Stratton, 26, of Ongar Road, Brentwood, was charged with a racially aggravated public order offence.

Sam King, 20, of Petersfield Avenue, Harold Hill, was charged with a racially aggravated public order offence.

Sam Sneddon, 21, of Farnes Drive, Romford, was charged with a racially aggravated public order offence.

Scott Templeman, 41, of Tavistock Drive, Billericay, Essex, was charged with a public order offence.

Daniel Lunt, 24, of Norton Road, Wirral, Merseyside, was charged with a racially aggravated public order offence

Also, Warren Kober, 49, of Maryland Avenue, Canvey Island, Essex, was charged with a racially aggravated public order offence.

He was bailed to appear at Thames Magistrates Court on July 8.

The men were charged in February this year.

Supt Craig Haslam, from Newham Police, said, “Anyone who has witnessed alleged discriminatory behaviour at football matches is urged to speak to local police or contact our non-emergency line on 101.”
