Romford killer Michael Adebolajo will be sentenced today for the murder of Fusilier Lee Rigby in Greenwich on May 22, last year.

Adebolajo, 29, and Michael Adebowale, 22, of Greenwhich, drove into the soldier before hacking him to death with a knife. They both potentially face whole-life sentences.

The pair were convicted of Ribgy’s murder last December and their sentencing was held off until the decision came from the court of appeal that whole-life sentences are justified in the “most heinous cases”.

The decision from the Old Bailey is expected later today. Follow @Romfordrecorder on twitter or watch the website for the verdict.
