A Rainham man was given a suspended prison sentence for carrying an axe in a public place.
Michael Maxwell, of Roman Close, was sentenced to four weeks suspended for 12 months, by magistrates at Barkingside Court on September 18.
The 51-year-old had pleaded guilty to the offence and must undertake anger management lessons.
The axe was forfeited and destroyed and he was ordered to pay �85 costs.
