A 22-year-old postman has admitted stealing 1,500 letters destined for people in Essex.
James Misselbrook, of Albert Gardens, Harlow, also pleaded guilty today to causing the delay of nearly 2,000 letters.
The offences took place in the Brentwood area between September and November last year.
Misselbrook was handed 150 hours of unpaid community service, ordered to pay £520 in costs and a £60 victim surcharge at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court.
The magistrates spared him a jail sentence because of his guilty plea.
