Police fear cars are being stolen to order after two Jaguars worth a sum of nearly £70,000 were stolen from the Brentwood area in four days.
Both cars were taken after burglars broke into the owners’ homes and stealing the ignition keys.
The first theft took place on July 10 when a grey Jaguar XJ worth more than £40,000 was taken from North Drive Hutton between 1-4pm.
Intruders broke into the home by a rear window causing approximately £1,500 damage and also taking a sat-nav and a Samsung Camera.
Four days later thieves broke in through a rear window of a home on High Street, Ingatestone, between 9.35am-6pm, caused £700 of damage, and stole a green Jaguar XF valued at £27,000.

Investigating officer Pc Adam McRobbie said: “It is unusual for any Jaguars to be stolen in this way but to have two go in less than a week and in very similar circumstances suggests that there is a strong possibility that they were stolen to order.
“We would like to hear from anyone who might have seen these crimes in progress or from anyone who might have information about the movements or whereabouts of the two cars.

“We would also advise other Jaguar owners to be vigilant about vehicle and home security and use additional steering locks in their cars and to hide away the car keys when leaving their homes unattended.”
