Havering Police have appealed for information after crooks stole money and jewellery from two elderly women in Romford.

On December 12, at around 4.20pm, two female victims, aged 92 and 85, were duped by two white males in their 50s who claimed to be from the water board.

The thieves told the first victim, in Main Road, that they needed to drain the house’s water system before using the same trick on her next door neighbour.

They stole 625 in cash as well as pearl, diamond and ruby necklaces.

Anyone with information should contact Romford CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
